Introduction of ChinaSmile Book Donation Scheme

Mainly reasons to donate books
Because of the issue of funding for education, Chinese primary schools are the lack of books, particularly, some newly published books. Usually, after these books have been popular in the urban children for a few years,  they could go into the hands of rural children. This is one of our original intention to donate books.

Why to choose Zhang Jia Kou to begin this public activity? The reason is relatively simple. Zhang Jia Kou is located very closely to Beijing, so it can facilitate communication. And Wan Quan is one of Chinese poverty-stricken counties.

Book Sources
We set out a book catalogs, including the latest books as well as the necessary tool books. We accept the donation books from all channels, such as the circle of friends, outdoor groups, colleagues, customers and so on. Donation is no limited on the quantity. You can join us even if you are in the United States or other countries, just via Dangdang.com or Amazon.cn to buy the books, then request them to directly post these books to our book collection place.

Book Management
After receiving the donated books, we will feedback to the Donors via e-mail they provided.
All of donated books will be affixed with a bar code and input to our computer system.
Sending the donated books to the Central Primary School, every quarter, we will make a statistics, and share the book used and damaged info with all donors.

Principles of the use of books
We allow the natural wear and tear, but  the book corruption definitely is not allowed. After natural wear and tear, we can continue to donate.

The quantity of donated books in the future
As far as possible to meet students' use of demand in the primary schools in poverty-stricken areas, we start of each donation from 200 books. In the next 10 years, 20 years, even longer,  we still continue to do it. We will not only donate books, but also know the ways to use books, as well as the slowly experience that  books bring the value of knowledge to the children. In the future, we will bring our own children to visit the libraries which are built up through our donated books, and let them take some time to study with children there.
